Brenda Leclerc
Candidate for Maine House of Representatives, House District 40
|
"We can no longer
defer to yesterday’s leadership, nor can we wait for solutions and
guidance in domestic affairs from Washington."
|
|
Brenda Leclerc is willing and able to
serve the people and families of Bucksport and Orrington, Maine, as
District #40 Representative to the Maine Legislature.
She believes it’s time for the people to govern themselves again, in the true nature and tradition of citizen representation.
We need policy makers who are wide awake to the realities of daily life in Maine, from raw experience. Brenda is especially concerned for:
• Our children whose futures are at risk, in regard to: education, health, economics, and their precious environment; • Parents working and struggling to break free of poverty, or to keep a grip on a middle income life and future; • Small and family-oriented business owners and farmers whose interests are not shared by larger businesses, and who sustain and contribute to healthy communities and a strong local economy; and • Regular folks who’ve worked a lifetime, and yet, despite their best planning, face real uncertainty about quality of life in retirement.

| Brenda and her family embrace and embody Maine living. Brenda is a
working mom, raising boys (ages 9 and 11) with her husband Mike in
Orrington, Maine. She serves the United Methodist Church of Ellsworth
as part-time pastor. Mike has spent nearly 20 years making paper for
International Paper of Bucksport and their predecessors, and
participating in local union leadership. Brenda has lived and worked in
Maine communities as pastor for 10 years, including 4 in Ellsworth. In
Orrington, Brenda and Mike are active volunteers and supporters of
community recreation, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Divinity (Bangor Theological Seminary).

"Each of us struggles with the everyday stress of work, family, and community connections. We feel we are too busy to participate, to represent our own interests - BUT we are the people (and voters) who best know our needs and challenges, hopes and dreams. Together, we must meet the present with voice and creativity. We can no longer defer to yesterday’s leadership, nor can we wait for solutions and guidance in domestic affairs from Washington."
Brenda Leclerc offers her time, passion, and love of life in service to the people of Bucksport and Orrington.
