In Maine our elderly and low income residents may have to choose between food and heat, between getting their prescriptions filled and staying warm. We can do better. Muskie led the drive to clean up the air we breath and the waters of our lakes and streams with passage of the clean air act-  and for 30 years I and others have continued this fight.  But in the past 4 years these laws protecting our environment have been under assault. The current administration and congress have turned these laws on their head, gutting these protections and leaving the polluters in charge of deciding how much pollution is ok.  In Maine, pregnant women and small children are advised not to eat the fish caught in our waters due to mercury and other toxins. We need to put an end to having the polluters in charge. We need to do better for Maine. You can make the difference.
