Hancock County Legislative Districts

Below is a list of the Maine Senate and House districts that include towns in Hancock County, as established by the recent re-apportionment. To contact your elected representatives, choose "Contact Legislators" on the menu bar at left.

Maine Senate

State Senate District 28: Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Central Hancock Twp. a/k/a T8 S.D., Cranberry Isles, Deer Isle, Ellsworth, Frenchboro, Gouldsboro, Hancock, Lamoine, Mount Desert, Sedgwick, Sorrento, Southwest Harbor, Stonington, Sullivan, Surry, Swan's Island, Tremont, Trenton and Winter Harbor. (Plus one town in Knox County.) Brian Langley (R-Ellsworth)

State Senate District 29: the unorganized territories of East Hancock Twp. (includes 7 SD, DTT9, T10, T3ND), Eastbrook, Franklin, Great Pond, Osborn and Waltham. (Plus 49 towns/unorganized territories in Washington County, and five towns/unorganized territories in Penobscot County.) Kevin L. Raye (R-Perry)

State Senate District 31: Amherst, Aurora, Bucksport, Castine, Dedham, Mariaville, Northwest Hancock Twp. a/k/a T32 MD, Orland, Otis, Penobscot and Verona. (Plus ten towns/unorganized territories in Penobscot County.) Richard W. Rosen (R-Bucksport)

Maine House of Representatives

State Representative District 11: the portion of East Hancock Twp. (includes T3 ND) north of State Route 9 from the East Hancock Twp.-Aurora boundary to the East Hancock Twp.-Beddington boundary. (Plus 18 towns/unorganized territories in Penobscot County, and nine towns/unorganized territories in Washington County.) Beth P. Turner (R- Burlington)

State Representative District 20: Dedham. (Plus five towns in Penobscot County.) David D. Johnson (R-Eddington)

State Representative District 30: Amherst, Aurora, Eastbrook, Franklin, Great Pond, Mariaville, Northwest Hancock Twp. a/k/a T32 MD, Osborn and that portion of East Hancock Twp. (includes 7 S.D., DTT9, T10) described as follows: south of State Route 9 from the East Hancock Twp.-Aurora boundary to the East Hancock Twp.-Beddington boundary. (Plus 17 towns/unorganized territories in Washington County.) Howard E. McFadden (R-Dennysville)

State Representative District 34: the unorganized territories of Central Hancock Twp. a/k/a T8 S.D., Gouldsboro, Hancock, Lamoine, Sorrento, Sullivan, Waltham and Winter Harbor. Richard S. Malaby (R-Hancock)

State Representative District 35: Bar Harbor, Cranberry Isles, Southwest Harbor and that portion of the municipality of Mount Desert northeast of a line running along Oak Hill Road beginning at the point where it intersects with the Mount Desert-Bar Harbor boundary; then south and east along Oak Hill Road until it intersects with Main Street; then southeast along a straight line from the intersection of Oak Hill Road and Main Street to Somes Harbor; also that portion of Mount Desert on the east side of Somes Harbor and Somes Sound, from the point where Main Street and Babson Creek intersect with the Mount Desert-Bar Harbor boundary; then east to the Atlantic Ocean, and including Sheep Island and other islands that are part of Mount Desert in Somes Harbor.  Elspeth (Elsie) Flemings  (D-Bar Harbor)   

State Representative District 36: Brooklin, Deer Isle, Frenchboro, Stonington, Swan's Island, Tremont and that portion of Mount Desert west of Somes Harbor and Somes Sound, and south of a line running along Oak Hill Road beginning at the point where it intersects with the Mount Desert-Bar Harbor boundary; then south and east along Oak Hill Road until it intersects with Main Street; then southeast along a straight line from the intersection of Oak Hill Road and Main Street to Somes Harbor. State Representative District 37: Blue Hill, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick and Surry. Ralph Chapman (D-Brooksville)

State Representative District 40: Bucksport. (Plus one town in Penobscot County.)
